Neighbors Kelli & Sue—on the Bend in Madison, TN—hang on their audio front porch, drink, laugh, gossip, discuss politics, dogs, local goings on, why Indian motorcycles are a girl's best friend—and how to make a positive difference in the world. So come sit with us, have a drink, and solve everyone's problems ...
KELLI BOYD, D.V.M., Ph.D., D.A.C.V.P. — whew — is a veterinary pathologist, biomedical researcher, mover of big trees when they get in her way, lover of dogs, horses, Miller Lite, hunting, Indian motorcycles, and our Videographer. She spent her formative years in Tylertown, Mississippi, which until recently was in a dry county. Her Friday afternoons reliably involved a 15-mile drive to the beer store across the Louisiana state line. Kelli moved to her farm in Nashville in 2009. When she retires, Kelli plans on having a taxidermy business, a tree service, and doing equine therapy on the side.
SUE HAVLISH, aging hippie chick, native Hoosier, entrepreneur, tilter at windmills, lover of dogs, cats, and our Audio Guru, worked for way too long as a university press marketing director (and at one time was Ellettsville, Indiana's first and only girl gas station attendant). She relocated to Nashville in the early 2000s—when you could still afford to buy a house here. Sue is now retired and sits in front of the tv all day eating bon bons, contemplating ways to incorporate vodka into all of her cooking.
